By Eaglesafc.com A STUNNING four quarters of football by Eagle Kevin Minaker has seen the Toronto Eagles romp away to a 63-point win over a disappointing Guelph Gargoyles at Margaret Green Park on Sunday afternoon. The Eagles, coming off a lacklustre victory the week before, were in charge all day against the Gargoyles, finishing with an 18.16 (124) to 9.7 (61) victory. Running hard all day, Minaker was unstoppable around the ground, racking up a ridiculous amount of possessions and two goals for the match. "It's been tough coming back from injury" stated Minaker "It's taken me a while to get my touch back, but I'm feeling good." Troy Marsh also had a standout game running hard in the midfield and around the half forward line. "Its always a tough trip to come down and play the Gargoyles" stated Marsh "Though, their lack of footy skill tends to shine through when they start to get beaten, too many undisipline plays." The Gargoyles, who looked flat and sluggish, just couldn't match it with the hard running Eagles side. To many times they were left out of the play as the Eagles ran rampart around the field. The Eagles took a 6.5 (41) to 2.0 (12) lead into quarter-time, booting the first goal of the game after unexpectedly electing to kick into the breeze. Guelph had little possession in the opening term as they over-used the ball and struggled to hit targets inside the forward 50. Coach Aaron Falcioni was very happy with his sides performance "The boys really played some top shelf footy today, everything we have been working on in training is starting to sink in." Falcioni was also very impressed with first year players Brent Jensen and Chris Grey who both played some good solid football. The Eagles back line performed well throughout the match with Dimacakos, Gallant and Nord having solid performances. The forwards were also damaging with veteran Les Husar having a great day out with four goals. The Eagles led by 56 points, 16.12 (108) to 8.4 (52), with a quarter to play, and the pace of the game slowed considerably in the final term on a windy day in Guelph, with the Eagles kicking two goals to Guelph’s one, Frank Luisser had an opportunity to add another at the final siren but he just missed off to the side. Next weekend the Eagles will battle the Broadview Hawks in a battle of "The Big Birds".
