The TORONTO EAGLES enters the 2009 season opener armed with a healthy list and are determined to make up for a disappointing 2008 grand final loss.

The early-season form of exciting players Troy Marsh, Tasos Dimacakos and new recruit Ajit Alistair will be monitored closely while recent recruit Kazoo will push for a spot early in the season.

Strengths
After going undefeated in 2008, the Eagles will be looking to their core player group to help repeat last season efforts. With so many established players returning to the best 18, there is sure to be much more competition for spots this season.

Aaron Falcioni missed most of season 2008 due to traveling overseas but remains one of the side best players. His ability to soak up opposition pressure should release Garth, Capoferri and new center men Ajit Alistair.

Troy Marsh remains one of the best players in the league while Tasos Dimacakos sits comfortably among the top handful of defenders. Both will be looking to start the season well.

Potential weakness
After the loss of two of their best, McDonald and Netherway, and the resignation of their coach the Eagles will have a new look this season.

How quickly the Eagles will adapt from their previous fast paced game to a more skillful approach will determine their success early in the season.

Sweating on
How the midfield will perform? The Eagles were without a doubt the most potent midfield last year, fast, talented and strong. With a new center core the question will be asked, how will they fair?

How will players react with a new coach and a new style of play?

Dangermen
Troy Marsh: This wily veteran has been the benchmark for Eagles players with his skill and leadership. He has come into season 2009 looking fitter and healthier. Look for him to have more of a role in the midfield this year.

Vaughn Jazyk: The Wiz, who was absent throughout last year, is returning to the Eagles side which he help secure the 2007 premiership. Skillful, fast and quick thinking could be an unexpected headache for the Etobicoke Kangaroos.

It’s not generally known…
The Eagles and Roos have traditionally had tightly contested matches with games coming down to the wire. With that being said both teams are able to blow out games on any given day.
